This quick post is a follow up to my last post about our excuses, reasons and alibis keeping us from creating success.
We’ve all used excuses before to justify our actions, and the bottom line, like Harv Eker says, is that we can have reasons, or results – not both!
I attribute my success to this – I never gave or took any excuse.Florence Nightingale
Never is a strong word.
But the key takeaway from this quote is that giving and taking excuses from others will keep you from the success you aspire to.
It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.George WashingtonThere’s not much that needs to be said about this quote other than to follow it up with another one of my favorites:
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.Mark Twain
It’s not an excuse quote, but it is a great follow up to George Washington’s quote.
Here’s my final favorite excuse quote to share with you today.
Nothing is impossible; there are ways that lead to everything, and if we had sufficient will we should always have sufficient means. It is often merely for an excuse that we say things are impossible.Francois de La Rochefoucauld
Impossible is a belief that gets silenced by someone who does.
Many of the great technological breakthroughs of the last century were once considered “impossible.”
That just demonstrates to me that nothing is impossible to the person who believes it’s possible.
I share this short list of quotes about excuses to hopefully inspire you to drop the excuses, and just start taking action.
We all wrestle with our mindset at times, and one of the best ways to overcome the “monkey chatter” in your head telling you to create excuses and that something’s impossible, is to feed your mind with powerful, positive, empowering audios.
